YOUR MAC. YOUR FILES.
Privacy policy.

Pinch is a Mac app by Dawid Kiełbasa for compressing and converting images, exporting videos, and organizing screenshots. For privacy questions, email [email protected].
Your files stay on your Mac
Pinch processes files locally. It does not upload your photos, videos, screenshots, or their metadata to us. The app has no accounts, advertising, analytics, or developer-operated crash reporting. We do not collect personal data through the app.
Files saved in a folder synced by iCloud or another service may be synced by that service. Pinch does not control your Mac’s backup or sync settings.
Permissions and local storage
The App Store version asks you to choose folders it may access and remembers those permissions locally. The optional Finder shortcut requests Automation permission to read your selection. You can decline and still use the file chooser, Open With, or drag and drop.
Preferences, folder permissions, and screenshot organization records stay on your Mac. Temporary recovery copies support Undo when replacing files in the App Store version; old recovery copies are cleared on the next launch. You control saved files and can revoke permissions in macOS settings.
Email support and this website
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer your request and resolve related issues, based on our legitimate interest in providing support. We retain correspondence while a request or related issue is open and, after resolution, only where needed for a dispute or a legal obligation. You do not need to send private files to ask for help.
This website has no analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. Our hosting and email providers process information needed to deliver those services, such as website request logs and email messages. Website logs may include your IP address, browser information, and requested pages, for delivery and security. Retention depends on the provider’s settings. We do not sell your personal information.
Apple and other services
Apple handles Mac App Store purchases and payments; we do not receive your payment-card details. Apple’s handling of purchase information is described in its privacy policy. If you follow a link to another website, that service’s privacy policy applies there.
Your choices and questions
Email [email protected] to ask about personal information you have shared with us or to request access, correction, deletion, or other rights available under applicable law. You can also raise a concern with your local data protection authority. Changes to this policy will be posted here with an updated date.
